What Do Our Learning Strategists Offer?
Our Learning Strategists are driven by a vision of educating the whole person, each with her own unique profile of strengths, needs and way of seeing the world. The Learning Strategist fosters student success as they navigate their own learning journey, through collaborating with and coaching parents and tutors in ways to support the student.
Their qualifications include decades of experience in the public education system, including roles as Classroom Teachers at multiple grade levels, as one-to-one tutors and as Special Education Resource Teachers who act as consultants and programming leaders with classroom teachers.
At Indigo, Learning Strategists focus on the support of parents and tutor in deconstructing and understanding student assessments and learning profiles from a teacher’s perspective. Part of their mission includes compiling and sharing strategies and resources that may apply in the home, classroom and tutor settings.

Working with a learning strategist
Tier 1
- Deconstruction of assessments and/ or documentation and anecdotal observations from teachers or parents
- Summarize key findings regarding student as they relate to classroom/ tutor setting and possible Individual Education Plan (IEP)
- Meet with parents and/ or tutor
Fees: 5 hours of consultation ~ $300
Tier 2
Tier 1 plus:
Fees: 10 hours of consultation ~ $560
- Community and online resources tailored to child’s learning profile
- Strategies to support child at home regarding academics, behaviour, emotional regulation, and more
- Meet with parents and/ or tutor
Fees: 10 hours of consultation ~ $560
Tier 3
Tier 1 & Tier 2 plus
Fees: 20 hours of consultation ~ $1040
- Create long range plan/outline for tutors based on assessment report
- Source resources to reflect plan/outline
- Collaborate with tutor regarding implementation of plan and resources
- Act as tutor consultant for first 4 weeks of plan implementation
- Meet with parents and/or tutor
Fees: 20 hours of consultation ~ $1040
Additional consultations available upon request of parents ~ $60 per hour
Consultation may include tutor program plan, clarification or extension of strategies, sources or resources, Individual Education Plan, assessments, reports, next steps
